Happy Birthday To You! By Dr. Seuss.
Recently, my Grandma gave me a stack of books that belonged to my mom when she was little. I was pleased to see something I haven't read from one of my favorite authors, Dr. Seuss. I've read and analyzed most of his work, but this little known story is about the extravagant and imaginative way birthdays are celebrated in the imaginary town of Katroo.
A few of my favorite rhymes from the book:
"For Birthday luncheons, as a rule, we serve hot dogs rolled on a spool."
"When it ends, you're much happier, richer, and fatter. And the bird flies you home on a very soft platter."
This book is just what the Doctor ordered. Literally.
