Salamander hunting

We have discovered amphibians at Little Bloedel. Every night at 7:05 pm (approximately 5 minutes after Truman gets tucked in), we do a field study out at the pond. We use this mega-flashlight to watch salamanders sex! And watch them lay their eggs! We can hear the pacific tree frogs. We found a long-toed salamander under a log. There are fresh water crustaceans and at least three fish. Amphibian Insanity!!!!

We may have to host a tadpole viewing party this spring.
